The European-style Kandahar Lodge is located on Big Mountain, 40 miles west of Glacier National
Park, and approximately 22 miles from Glacier International Airport. The 50-room lodge is a
base camp for summer explorations of nearby Glacier National Park and in the middle of the
action for winter snow sports. Day trips from Kandahar may include hiking, mountain biking,
wildlife viewing, sightseeing, fishing, boating, swimming, a balloon flight, shopping,
museums, theater, and excellent dining. Winter brings skiing, snowboarding, cross country
skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, horse-drawn sleigh rides, and dog-sled adventures. 
 The property's amenities include the hot tub, steam room, exercise room, massage services,
and fully licensed Snug Bar. Cafe Kandahar serves breakfast and dinner (reservations
recommended). 
 All rooms feature pine interiors and tile bathrooms and have A/C, small refrigerators,
microwaves, and coffeemakers. 
 The lodge is open from Thanksgiving to mid-April and from June through September.
