It's The Season

During high season in travel, even more so than usual the motto is: consumer beware.
I strongly recommend you do some research on your destination and the hotels you may want to stay and above all, make advance reservations. I can't begin to tell you the number of messages I get from frustrated travelers that are either stranded or pay incredibly high rates for sub par hotels, because the city or area they are visiting is extremely busy.

Also, since rates are going to be higher than usual because of the season it may make sense to explore destinations and hotels within your own area. Chances are many tourists spend a lot of money to come to visit your very own region. We often forget what is around us. I recall living in London, England for five years, but never really explored the sights until visitors came. Regardless, you may be surprised at the rates you may find in your own back yard.
