  • Pack Practically
Always include your flight number and name inside each checked bag in case the bag tag falls off. You can write the information on a piece of paper and slip it into a luggage pocket or use the American baggage tags at the airport. ~Maribel Sotelo, Customer Service Manager, Chicago

  • For the Kids
An inexpensive disposable camera can keep kids occupied on a flight and during the trip. If you're able to develop the film on your trip, bring along a small photo album for them to organize the photos on the flight home. ~Holly Salatino, Flight Attendant, Chicago

  • Packing
Always bring a carry-on that can fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you. Pack your basic necessities or valuables in the carry-on including car and house keys, medications, TSA-approved toiletries, liquids, gels and aerosols, cell phone and personal identification and travel documents.

  • Small Children
If you're traveling with small children, have them carry their own small backpack filled with crayons, coloring books and inexpensive toys.

  • Dress in layers
Dress in layers to maintain your level of comfort in relation to the aircraft cabin temperature.

  • Airport Security
Place valuables (jewelry, laptop computers and cash) only in carry-on baggage.
  • Head Rest
On a plane, don't grab the headrest in front of you to get out of your seat. You may accidentally pull the hair of the person sitting there. Even if you don't, it is an annoying tug on the seat for that person. Use the armrests instead.
  • Changing Seats
Passengers wanting to change seat should ask at check-in as bulkhead and exit row seats are allocated last and there may be spaces available.
  • Airline Lounge
If you have a long wait in between flight transfers it is worth noting that for a one off fee you may be able to use the airline's executive lounge.
  • Ear Pressure
Passengers suffering from ear pressure during flights should place a hot cloth in a cup and hold it to your ear. This will actually relieve the discomfort.
